Bare Minerals launched a Gen Nude Lip collection 60 shades of nudes in the matte liquid lipsticks. I am going to review the colors JUJU and XYZ. Juju is a “rosy mauve” color and the XYZ is a “cinnamon beige” color as described on the main Bare Minerals website. According to Bare Minerals the Gen Nudes go on as cream and have a matte finish.
Review: I tested the colors Juju and XYZ for 12 hours each and I have to say they have a great long lasting coverage. At first when I tried the lipstick on I couldn’t believe how smooth it glided on my lips. The smell was good it smelled like cookies. What I did wrong was I drank coffee 4 minutes after putting the lipstick on. The lipstick transferred over to my cup. I put another layer on after my cup of coffee and let it dry for 5 minutes to a matte finish. After 5 minutes the lipstick had went from a cream to matte finish, but not to drying like some other liquid lipsticks I have tried. After about 7 hours my lips were getting a little dried and I applied my Elizabeth Arden Cream Lip Protectant stick over the lipstick. The lipstick stayed moisturizing for another 6 hours when I removed the product with my Simple micellar makeup removing wipes. The colors Juju and XYZ are great a medium toned skin color and they are great nude colors for Spring and Summer.
Bare Minerals says on the website the Liquid Lipsticks are gluten-free and they are cruelty free on animals.
Swatches of JUJU and XYZ are below. I have medium skin tone.
