Rice Water

Next time you’re making rice soak the rice in water for at least 15 minutes and bring it to use. Rice water is an Asian beauty secret that has been around for centuries.Rice Water has many benefits for the hair and skin. I use Rice Water as a cleanser and toner. It has helped my skin significantly. I feel my skin has become tighter and smoother. I have less acne to no acne. It has made my skin routine simple and easy.

I have used Rice Water for my hair to make it stronger and shiny. I have long hair and after using chemicals and heat my hair became fragile. Now I wash my hair with Rice water every other day and I shampoo my hair only once a week. My hair falls out less, I feel my hair is stronger and shiny.

You will need:

1/2 cup of uncooked rice (I use Royal Chef’s Secret Extra Long Grain Basmati Rice)

2 cups of water

Stainer

Container or Bowl

Directions:

Wash the 1/2 cup rice to remove any impurities and add the rice into a bowl or container. Add 2 cups water and let the rice soak in the water for at least 15 minutes. I Usually soak my rice overnight this helps the minerals in the rice to flow to the water.

Using a strainer strain out the rice water into a bowl or container. If you plan on storing the rice water use an air-tight container. The rice water can be stored up to a week in the fridge.

Skin Benefits

Acne

Rice Water helps shrink pores it can be used as a cleanser and a toner for the skin.Use a cotton pad to pat down on the skin and let air dry.

Eczema

The starch in Rice Water helps eczema(don’t use cornstarch I have gotten a reaction from cornstarch on my eczema) Use a cotton pad to pat down on the skin and let air dry.

Irritated skin/Sunburn skin

Rice Water helps cool skin use cold rice water from the fridge. Use a cotton pad to pat down on the skin and let air dry.

Hair Benefits

Rice Water can be used to rinse and condition hair. The Rice Water makes hair shiny, healthy and strong.
